I’ve always been a fan of colorful coats to brighten up dreary winter days. My favorite coat of all time was my pink J Crew coat which you can see here and here. Even though it’s eight years old, it’s still in great shape, and I wear it all the time. However, I figured after eight years of wearing the same coat it was time to invest in a new colorful coat. When J Crew factory had a great sale on Cyber Monday, I purchased this beautiful emerald coat.
This coat, known as the City Coat on J Crew Factory and the Stadium-Cloth Cocoon Coat on J Crew, comes in three colors on J Crew Factory and nine on J Crew. The emerald color was the brightest color on J. Crew Factory and at more than $200 cheaper than the regular J. Crew option, I was left with this one choice.
However, I didn’t solely choose it for it’s bright color. I also knew this emerald color would go with most of the winter clothes I already had. My closet is full of red, navy, and cream, which are all great compliments to emerald. Plus, it’s especially beautiful during this holiday season, which is why I paired it with another oldie but goodie – my ten year old J Crew plaid button down! What a great investment piece! You can see the last time I styled it here and shop similar options here and here.
I’d love to know, do you opt for more neutral colored winter coats or bright and colorful options like I do?
