The top two questions I receive around style and what to wear are in regards to wedding related events, such as engagement photos, and what to wear to work. If you work in a very corporate setting, it can be hard to find ways to weave in your personal style with an appropriate office style. This outfit is an example of how I would subtly show my personal style at work.
2 Tips for Office Style
- Monochrome Look: First, if all else fails go for a chic, monochrome look. This allows you to add in your personal style with accessories like I did with today’s heels. In this look, the crisp winter blue sweater on the navy blue pants offers a clean palate while still having some personality with the slightly brighter blue on top (I last wore this sweater more casually here). Another chic office ensemble I love is these same navy pants with this navy bow neck sweater and a pair of leopard flats.
- Statement Piece: In today’s outfit, the shoes are definitely the statement piece, which brings up my second point about office style. Have at least one statement piece that defines your personal style. That could be a great pair of heels, a statement necklace or earrings, or a fun scarf.
Now, I need to pause to tell you about these pants. These have been one of the best staples in my closet over the past few months. Not only are they work appropriate, they are also incredibly comfortable (very strechy, yet not too tight fitting). Plus, they can be dressed up or down (you may recognize them from this post). They come in some great colors for spring so I can’t recommend them enough. How pretty would the pink pair be with this ivory silk bell sleeve top and these stud pointed toe flats?!
I’d love to know, what does your office style consist of? How do you show your personal style at work?
