A Wardrobe Staple: The Striped Knit Shift Dress

Happy first day of spring! I am so excited that spring is finally here both officially and weather wise. Today in Atlanta it was almost 80 degrees! To ring in the first day of spring, I wore almost this exact look. The only change I made was dressing it up slightly by swapping my white tennis shoes for my navy wedges (last seen here), which is why I truly believe this striped knit shift dress is a wardrobe staple. It can be restyled so many different ways and is extremely comfortable.

In today’s post, I had fun with this dress and even felt a little European by adding my J. Crew bandanna and  white tennis shoes. I love how this look is casual yet still so cute. Throwing the denim jacket over it for a light layer makes it the perfect outfit for a spring weekend! I’ve also worn this dress with my pink flats (last seen here) and will be wearing it with a pair of sandals in the summer. It’s a great throw on and go dress for those days when you just don’t know what to wear. Unfortunately, this Old Navy version of the striped knit shift dress is now only available in yellow, but both J. Crew and J. Crew Factory carry an almost identical version of the dress in navy.

While this striped knit shift dress is definitely a wardrobe staple, the other three pieces in this look have quickly become my spring staples this year as well. I have already worn these comfy, affordable white tennis shoes with everything from dresses to jeans and will be pairing them with shorts as the weather continues to warm up. This denim jacket, which is the perfect wash in my opinion, is affordable and a great layering piece for spring. Finally, while I was at first a bit hesitant about the neck scarf trend, I have fully embraced it with this pretty pink paisley one and have also styled it as a headband and added to my favorite tote, which you will see on Friday!
