I’ve been meaning to share our newborn photos with you all for a while as we took these at the end of August! There were so many that I loved that it was hard to narrow them down. Looking back on these brings me so much joy. Not only has Andrew grown so much since we took these (insert crying emoji), but it was also such a sweet time focusing on our new family of three. I know I will treasure these pictures forever and can’t thank Paige Molina enough for capturing this special time so beautifully! If you’re in Atlanta and are in need of a newborn (or wedding!) photographer then definitely reach out to Paige!
With these photos I also wanted to share why I highly recommend investing in a newborn photography session. After having a new baby it can be hard to rationalize spending money on photos. In addition, in those early weeks, it seems near impossible to get the whole family cleaned up, dressed, and ready to spend a couple precious hours taking said photos. But, in my opinion, it’s totally worth it! Below are my reasons for why you should invest in newborn photos.
This time is fleeting and all you’ll have to look back on are photos
- I learned this lesson from our wedding and while the newborn phase is more than just a single day, it still goes by so fast. Like I said above, I already look back on these photos and cherish the fact that we were able to capture this special time as a new family of three. I know in years to come, I will always treasure the fact that I have these to look back at.
Special, quality time with just your family
- Life with a baby is hectic and sometimes it’s hard to sit quietly and just enjoy time with your precious little one. I love that this session forced us to dedicate all of our attention to Andrew and each other. It was a nice reminder to continuously find moments like this to just enjoy being around each other.
One of the few (if only) times you capture moments in your own home
- I love that these photos were taken inside our home. It makes them even more special since this apartment was our first home as a family of three. Since I know we won’t be living here forever, it’s nice that we also got to document our time here.
Make great birth announcements, thank you cards, or gifts for the grandparents
- Not only will you have beautiful photos of your family to put around the house, you can also share them with others. A cute birth announcement photo card, a photo thank you card for the many wonderful gifts baby has received, or a framed picture for grandparents are all fun, easy ways to share them.
I’d love to know, did you have a newborn photography session after you had your little one? Or, if you’re still waiting on their arrival, do you plan to have one?!

P.S. My dress is from an adorable (and affordable) online boutique called Piper & Scoot. Unfortunately, it’s sold out in white, but they do have it in a pretty sage color here. If you’re looking for a white dress in particular, this one from Piper & Scoot is very similar and I also love this one and this one!
