Happy Friday! First off, I want to apologize for not posting yesterday. I had big plans to share some Thanksgiving Day outfit ideas with you but the day got away from me. I promise I’ll share next week though! For today, I wanted to talk about this pleated skirt and particularly pleated skirts for the holiday season.
Can you believe it’s November, and we are already talking about the holidays? There are so many festive pieces out already. However, it’s hard to think about buying all the sparkly, velvet, and red and gold things when we haven’t even made it to Thanksgiving!
One piece that will be perfect for the holidays, but that you can actually wear now, is the pleated skirt. The one I’m wearing in today’s post is actually from last Christmas. However, Loft made an almost identical version this year, it’s just a little bit longer. By pairing it with a basic tee in a fall hue and my go-to leopard flats, this look is perfect for the office or even a date night!
I talked about this shirt in my travel style post earlier in the week, but I’ll mention it again here. These tees are the BEST! I bought them in every color last year and pair them with everything. The fit is loose and it’s perfect for layering. They look great under blazers and cardigans too! I love that it helped dress down this shimmery pleated skirt making it perfect for every day wear.
There are so many cute and festive pleated skirts out right now that you could easily style with a tee or sweater now and then dress up with a silk tank and velvet blazer or sparkly blouse for the holidays later. I’ve shared some of my favorites below – everything from velvet and floral to shimmery and bold, As it gets colder, any one of these pleated skirts would also look great with tights and booties or over the knee boots!
I also have to point out these SugarFix by BaubleBar ball drop earrings. I have been wanting a pair of earrings like these and finally caved when I saw these at Target for $13! Typically, I don’t go for black but I loved how pretty it looked with the gold detailing and also thought they would be perfect for the holiday season – how pretty will they look with red?!
Speaking of the holidays, even though it’s early November, I’ve started to plan some holiday content for you all that I am really excited about. I’ll be sharing plenty of gift guides and outfit ideas, in addition to the regular scheduled blog posts. All the holiday content will live on a holiday page on my main menu so you can easily find it. It should be live by the end of next week!
Let me know in the comments if there’s anything in particular you’d like me to cover in the holiday content!
