Styling More with Less: November Recap

Styling More with Less | 6 Pieces Each Styled 3 Different Ways | Midtown Magnolia Blog

It’s the last day of November, which means it’s time for the November ‘Styling More with Less’ recap! In case you missed last month’s recap, let me explain what these are all about.

On Midtown Magnolia, I want to help you make the most of your wardrobe. I know it’s not realistic for you to buy a new piece for every occasion. Or, to spend a fortune on something you will only wear once. I want to inspire you to find ways to restyle the clothing items you have by showing you how I restyle the pieces in my wardrobe!

For each recap, you can expect to find anywhere from three to six pieces styled at least three different ways. By the way, not all of the looks will have been featured on my blog. Some will only be featured on my Instagram. If you never want to miss a look, be sure to follow along there as well!

For November, I styled and restyled the following pieces:

  1. A cream bell sleeve sweater
  2. Lace pants
  3. A plaid scarf
  4. A burgundy travel wrap
  5. A classic blue and white striped button down
  6. Green chinos

Keep reading to see the three different ways I wore each of these six pieces!

A Cream Bell Sleeve Sweater

A neutral cream sweater pairs well with just about anything, especially a pretty pink skirt or pants. I love that this one has bell sleeves for a fun, trendy touch and is also thin enough to tuck into pants and skirts.

Lace Pants

Let these pink lace pants stand out on their own with a neutral sweater and flats. Or, add some color with another pastel shade and some jeweled heels. I used to be afraid of wearing anything but neutrals with such a colorful pair of pants, but I love how this blue silk top paired with these pink pants creates a feminine, chic look. Unfortunately, the pink color is from last year, but I love the red and black ones that J. Crew came out with this season.

A Plaid Scarf

A plaid scarf is a fall staple, and I love the deep fall hues of this one. This scarf is from Target’s A New Day brand and you can’t beat the $17 price tag! Dress it up with a dress and boots, style it for a casual weekend look with jeans and a sweater, or tie all the colors from the scarf together with a black turtleneck, white jeans, and camel loafers!

A Burgundy Travel Wrap

This wrap is another item from Target’s A New Day collection! They’re calling it a travel wrap and it can be worn as a wrap, shawl, or scarf. It comes in seven different colors and is another very affordable fall layering piece at just $20. Adding pieces like this or the scarf above are easy ways to revamp your fall wardrobe without breaking the bank.

A Classic Blue & White Striped Button Down

I promise this isn’t an ad for Target’s A New Day brand, but this button down is also from this season’s collection! I just love this new clothing line so much! It’s affordable and has so many versatile pieces. I love a classic button down for wearing on it’s own or layering under sweaters and cardigans.

Green Chinos

These chinos are what I like to call a wardrobe warrior for me! I wear them all.the.time. in the fall. They are so comfortable and a great alternative for when I don’t feel like wearing jeans. I love the green color and tend to pair them with pinks, blues, and neutrals. They come in a variety of colors though so if you don’t own a pair, invest in these $30 pants!
