If you read yesterday’s blog post, you know that I shared family outfit ideas for holiday photos. Today, I wanted to take a step back to the present, however, and share some Thanksgiving Day outfit inspiration. When I think about my ideal Thanksgiving Day outfit, it has the following qualities:
• Somewhat dressy – after all Thanksgiving doesn’t happen every day
• Comfortable – preferably stretchy pants to accommodate all the food I’ll be eating
• Traditional fall hues -whether that’s navy, green, camel, or in today’s outfit, burgundy. Thanksgiving is the one and only “fall” holiday so I like to dress for the season.
In past years, I’ve worn this plaid shirt dress and this corduroy skirt and sweater combo. This year I’m changing it up with black jeans, a pretty lace cami, and my favorite wrap (last seen here, here, and here)! I love that the lace cami dresses this look up a bit, while the wrap keeps it cozy and casual.
This cami is actually from Abercrombie & Fitch if you can believe that! I haven’t shopped there since middle school. However, since they recently revamped their clothing line, I decided to see what it was all about. I found some really cute pieces including this cami, which I got for just $20!
These black jeans have just the right amount of stretch, perfect for enjoying all the turkey and stuffing at Thanksgiving without feeling uncomfortable. The dark denim also makes them seem a little dressier, too. My wrap and purse are both from Target’s ‘A New Day’ brand, which I’m obsessed with. I’ve talked about my obsession with this brand and shared other cute pieces here and here.
What do you plan to wear for Thanksgiving? If you’re in need of more inspiration, I put together four Thanksgiving Day outfit ideas here and shared two looks last week that would also be perfect for the holiday (here and here).
