While I love dressing extra festive this time of year, it’s nice to mix it up with an understated holiday outfit. With just a subtle pop of plaid, this look can be worn beyond the holiday season. Instead of my typical blue jeans, I opted for my white denim for today’s look. I love how white jeans for the holidays creates a crisp, wintery feel. I’ve said it a million times before, but white jeans really can be worn year round!
Recognize this plaid shirt from yesterday’s post? I told you I’m obsessed with it for layering! It’s the perfect weight and the cute ruffle sleeves and collar are ideal for popping out from under a sweater. Unfortunately, it’s a few years old. I can’t find another J. Crew plaid shirt with the same ruffle detailing but I do love this one for layering. My white jeans are from Loft and are the most comfortable and flattering pair I’ve ever owned. The great thing about buying white jeans in the winter is that you can get them at a discount! In order to make my white jeans seasonally appropriate, I paired them with darker colors of black, brown, and red.
I love that this outfit is chic, comfy, and slightly festive – perfect for wearing as you run around completing those last minute holiday to-dos. If you don’t want to wear plaid after the holidays, you could easily swap this button down out for a chambray one to take this look into the new year.
