Happy Saturday! Woah, what a week. This working mom life is no joke. Now that work is picking up, I feel like I have a million things on my mind at once and my to do list never gets shorter. I spent a lot of time this week prioritizing what had to get done and focusing on actually finishing those items. I’m also trying to get better at focusing 100% of my attention on Andrew when I’m not working and with him. I’m always trying to do better about living in the moment! Anyways, today I wanted to share a casual Valentine’s Day outfit inspiration with you.
This look is perfect for a night in or a more laid back night out with your girlfriends or significant other. And of course, it’s not limited to Valentine’s Day. The pretty shades of pink and blue make it appropriate to wear all spring long.
I bought this pink silk tank from J. Crew a few weeks ago on major sale and am so glad I scooped it up! It’s the prettiest shade, feels amazing, and is a great wardrobe staple – perfect for layering under blazers, sweaters, and kimonos while the weather’s cooler and then wearing on it’s own later in the spring and summer! You could easily dress this tank up to for a fancier V-day out. If pink isn’t your color, it also come in a sage green and navy blue.
I got this kimono last year in a StitchFix box I tried. If I hadn’t received it from StitchFix, I don’t think I would have picked it out on my own. I absolutely love it though! I last wore it here over a simple white shift dress and have also thrown it over a white tee in the summer to add a little something to an otherwise basic top. Since this kimono is over a year old, it’s no longer available but I love this one just as much and especially for Valentine’s Day!
To complete this casual Valentine’s Day look, I added my light pink purse and pink flats. Both items are old but I’ve linked similar options below. I love how the different shades of pink complement each other.
