With Valentine’s Day this week, I thought I would share some last minute outfit inspiration with you. Since it’s typically cold on Valentine’s Day, it can be hard to figure out what to wear. I always want to wear dresses but it’s often too cold. Last year, I opted for my pink lace pants, while the year before that I just decided to freeze in a midi skirt! Desperately wanting to wear this slip dress for Valentine’s Day, I was determined to find a way to make it cold weather appropriate!
As you can see, all I did was simply layer a fitted turtleneck underneath this pretty pink slip dress. And you can easily replicate this trick under your favorite sleeveless dress! I’ve worn this dress three different ways on the blog – you can see it last in this post and this one – turns out a pink slip dress is incredibly versatile! This one is from Anthropologie last fall but I found this one, this one, and this one which are all similar.
I don’t know why but earlier in the year I was on the hunt for a fitted, ribbed, cream colored turtleneck. Very specific I know, but I had visions of this top and all the different ways I would style it. When I finally found it at J. Crew I immediately ordered it and it’s everything I hoped it would be! It’s the perfect layering piece but just as great on its own. I love how it pairs with this dress, making it more appropriate for the cooler temps. You’ll be seeing it a few more times on Midtown Magnolia in the coming weeks so stay tuned!
